Knowledge Is Power

A Challenging Project

Fall 2020

Tackling this situation in Baltimore was not an easy task. We had to work as a team to clearly define our goals and the responsibilities of each team member. Three team members conducted research and literary reviews, while the fourth team member gathered and analyzed GIS data. All of the components were combined and culminated into our final deliverable. This website represents the totality of the research completed into three waste sites in Baltimore City, located near low socioeconomic communities, and their impacts on the health of the people living in these communities. We hope that our project allows individual and community leaders to learn about this issue and use our findings to make a change in their communities.

“Waste is worse than loss. The time is coming when every person who lays claim to ability will keep the question of waste before him constantly. The scope of thrift is limitless.”
