Federal Regulation

The Clean Air Act was signed in by Congress and is continuously implemented through regulation by the EPA.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) analyses air quality levels and health effects of air quality to determine standards necessary for a reasonable quality of life. The EPA monitors market structure and flow for industry sectors that contribute to creation or distribution of the identified harmful pollutants.

Local Regulation

Most air quality regulation is only achievable at the state and federal levels, however Baltimore City Government is attempting to implement an act that specifically targets the emissions produced, transported, and disposed of within city limits.
